Most insurance companies cover physical therapy. If there is no coverage, we have affordable cash fees and payment plans if needed.
Most insurance companies do require a referral from your physician. However, Colorado is a direct access state, meaning you can seek physical therapy services without seeing your doctor.
For your first appointment, you should bring your insurance card, photo ID, your doctor’s orders and protocols (if applicable), a list of your medications, and relevant medical history. If your insurance requires a co-payment you will need to bring that as well. If you have a deductible some providers may require a payment at the time of treatment.
You should wear comfortable clothes that are not restrictive to movement and closed toe shoes like sneakers.
The amount of time needed depends on the type of therapy involved. For example, it may take one patient longer to complete their therapeutic exercises than another. Also, as a patient makes progress, their treatment plan is adjusted, and times may vary.
Many times your doctor will prescribe how often and/or how long you should receive physical therapy. Occasionally, insurance companies dictate this. But mostly your therapist will predict how often and how long you may need physical therapy based on the findings at your initial evaluation.
